All activities start from the reception area and leave on time. Please meet in the lobby 15 minutes prior to the timings given below.

Falconry: Witness the traditional Arabic art of falconry. In days gone by, desert nomads woke at dawn to hunt with their falcons before the sun rose high. Our falconers give you a unique insight on how Bedouins trained these amazing birds of prey. Duration: 1 hour

Nature Walk: Walk with your guide that will interpret the amazing diversity of life in the desert and will provide an informative and educational experience on all the smaller desert wonders. Duration: 1 hour

Wildlife Drive: The ideal opportunity to see the famous Arabian Oryx (Al Maha) and other indigenous fauna and flora. With a knowledgeable field guide who will illustrate all the wonders of the desert. Duration: 1 hour

Sundowners: A short trip in a vehicle out into the dunes to toast the setting sun. An alternative to the sunset spot where the camels will be present and an opportunity for photographs will be possible. Duration: 1 hour

Archery: A lesson in the noble art of archery, which features heavily in the heritage of Middle Eastern and Bedouin culture. Suitable time to be negotiated with your Field Guide. Duration: 1 hour

Activities available at additional charge:
Horse Riding: A chance to see the desert from the back of an Arabian horse at sunrise. 85kg maximum weight limit applies. All riders will be required to wear long pants, closed shoes, no slippers and respectful clothing. Riders will be provided with helmets and chaps that will be compulsory. Duration: 1 hour

Desert Drive: A more extreme 4x4 drive in the dunes, driven by our experienced field guides to view the beautiful desert scenery. Duration: 1.5 hours

Desert Research & Conservation Center Tour: Enjoy an immersive introduction to the UAE’s indigenous flora and fauna. Learn about the reserve’s sustainability initiatives that support the conservation of over 500 species of plants, trees, birds, mammals, reptiles and arthropods. Bookings should be made the night before. Limited slots available. Duration: 2.5 hours
