Victoria Lodge provides visitors to Exmoor with bed and breakfast accommodation in a large elegant Victorian home which exudes an air of calm and tranquillity. This stunning guest house was built in 1883 and retains much of its original character in its sumptuous decoration. Ideally situated in the centre of the village we are just 5-10 minutes' walk from the South West Coastal Path and 15 minutes from the spectacular Valley Of The Rocks. This B&B is an excellent base for exploring North Devon being set in Exmoor National Park and 20 miles from Minehead Barnstaple Ilfracombe Woolacombe and Croyde. Each of our eight individually designed bedrooms is imaginatively decorated exceptionally comfortable and beautifully dressed with quality drapes and furnishings. The rooms are filled with many thoughtful extras and are complemented by modern en-suites with sparkling interiors.
Victoria Lodge has a large comfortable lounge available to guests and also a smaller reading room which houses a selection of maps brochures for local amenities books of local interest and more general reading materials and games. There is a private south-facing garden at the rear where guests are encouraged to sit and relax after a day exploring their surroundings. A licenced Honesty Bar will also be available shortly.

Mobility Description:
Whilst Victoria Lodge does not have any bedrooms on the ground floor the twin room and five doubles are on the first floor of the house and reachable by a wide Victorian staircase via 17 shallow steps (18cm) with one good handrail on the banisters. The bedrooms with a shower have a minimum 21cm raised ledge in the shower. Our car park is at the rear and access to the house is via steep steps. However there is street parking in front of the house (no restrictions for those holding a blue badge) and access to the entrance is via a shallow slope with one 19cm step into the entrance hall. Assistance with luggage is available. Two lounges and the dining room are on the ground floor which is totally level and these lounges are there to be enjoyed at any time of the day or evening. Full waitress service is available at breakfast. We can store any medication that needs to be refrigerated.

Victoria Lodge is situated directly opposite the Post Office in the town centre. If you decide to exit M5 at J24 beware of very long steep hill exiting Porlock (25%)!;
