The Waggon & Horses is a family owned country pub hotel restaurant in North Essex close to the Suffolk county border half way between Colchester and Cambridge near to Halstead Braintree Sudbury and Haverhill. A good stopping off place for Stansted Airport Constable Country and Hedingham Castle. Colchester Britain's oldest recorded town is only 20 miles away and the University City of Cambridge only 30 miles. The Norman Keep built in 1140 at Castle Hedingham is only 2 miles away. The Waggon & Horses is a handsome XVIth century inn standing on the main road at Great Yeldham close to the Essex/Suffolk border. We are a freehouse featured in the CAMRA Best Beer Guide. The restaurant is open every day from 11-9 pm Monday to Saturday; 12-7 pm on Sundays. Prices are very reasonable and there are a variety of bar snacks available. A continental breakfast is included in all room rates The host is Carly Worrow who has over 12 years experience in the Hospitality Industry.

The Waggon & Horses has 10 en suite rooms with television including a room designed for disabled occupation. The en suite bedrooms have horse racing themes. There are 6 small bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities at budget rates. All rooms include a Continental Breakfast. A full cooked breakfast is available on request locally at an additional charge
