Fethiye, one of the oldest towns of the Lycian Coast, is among the most atmospheric locations in Turkey. The town is situated in a secluded bay with a natural marina. In the old part, narrow streets open up to small squares that are filled with various shops, coffee houses and restaurants. The Fethiye market, held once a week, sells various souvenirs, leather goods, perfumes and spices. The region also has plenty of historical points of interest including Xanthos, the ancient Lycian capital, and Letoon, the holy Lycian capital. During the summer season, it is worth making a round trip to Rhodes.
