Our traditional working sheep farm is situated at 1200 ft above sea level, on the quiet, unspoiled western side of the Peak District National Park. We enjoy excellent open countryside with far-reaching views over the Cheshire Plain to the Welsh mountains. On the farm we have five 4* B & B rooms and two 4* self catering holiday cottages. We are ideally located for exploring the magnificent scenery of the Peak District and Cheshire, with many footpaths straight from the door, from quiet rambles to tough hill walking on rugged moors. Both cottages were previously used as haylofts for our working farm, but have since been renovated to a very high standard as self catering holiday cottages. The spacious interior retains many of its original features including pitched pine beams and exposed stone work giving the place warmth and character. The cottages also benefit from modern luxuries such as free Wi-Fi throughout and cosy under floor heating. The cottages have been turned upside down to take advantage of the properties character and views of the surrounding Peak District countryside - which can be best appreciated from the first floor living area, hence the unusual layout. In our B & B we have range of single, twin, double, family and disabled access rooms which are located in what had been the milking parlour and the hay store. Of course, they are done to a very high standard and provide an ideal balance of comfort and facilities. The beautiful Peak Park with its many attractions is on the doorstep. The historic city of Chester is approximately 1 hours drive away. There are many pretty villages with fine pubs, shops and restaurants within easy reach. Local attractions include several National Trust properties such as Tatton Park, Little Moreton Hall, Lyme Park, Quarry Bank Mill and Dunham Massey, to name but a few. The local market towns of Macclesfield, Buxton, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Leek are within easy driving distance.
In our B & B we have range of single, twin, double, family and disabled access rooms which are located in what had been the milking parlour and the hay store. Of course, they are done to a very high standard and provide an ideal balance of comfort and facilities. There is also a guest lounge with large comfy sofas, TV, play station and PC.
All our guests have access to our guest lounge with large comfy sofas, TV, play station, and a computer with internet access. There is also a patio area with garden furniture for you to enjoy. Great for a barbeque in the summer! We also have a supply of board games, and books. Guests also have 500 acres of our land to walk. Lamaload reservoir is a short walk across our fields, and there is a public footpath through the farm leading around the Goyt Valley.
