Santoro restaurant at Grace Santorini among top restaurants in Greece at the FNL Best Restaurant Awards 2017
16 January 2018: Santoro restaurant at Grace Santorini was recognised as one of the country’s leading restaurants at the FNL Best Restaurant Awards 2017, which took place in Athens on 8 January 2018. Santoro restaurant was one of only six restaurants in Greece to receive two stars in the “Contemporary Greek Cuisine” category, and is the only restaurant in Santorini to receive this accolade.
Santoro offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy a unique gastronomic experience, with signature dishes influenced by the flavours and produce of the Cycladic islands and select elements from contemporary worldwide cuisine.
The aim of the FNL Best Restaurant Awards, driven by the FNL Guide (Food & Leisure Guide), a digital magazine dedicated to showcasing gastronomy and travel in Greece and abroad, is to evaluate and recognise the country’s best restaurants. The results were based on the views of a committee consisting of FNL team members and distinguished critics. The award was received by Executive Chef Spyros Agious, on behalf of the Santoro team.
Lena Livanidou, Head of Europe for Grace Hotels, commented: “This is a superb accolade for Santoro and for Grace Santorini, and is testament to the dedication and passion of Chef Spyros Agious and his team. It is an honour for us to be recognised in this way, and is a wonderful reward for our commitment to offering what we truly believe are incredible gastronomic experiences in one of the most sublime settings imaginable.”
The two stars received at the FNL Best Restaurant Awards 2017 represent the latest distinction for the restaurant, which in 2017 was awarded its first “Toque d'Or” during the 2017 Toques d'Or Awards, one of the oldest and most credible gastronomy award ceremonies in Greece.
