AWARD-WINNING B & B In the Scottish Hospitality Awards 2017 Carlton Seamill B & B was voted National Winner in the nation-wide category "Scottish B & B of the Year 2017". For three years running we have been either National or Regional Winner in these highly prized awards. ARCHITECTURE AND ENVIRONMENT For guests who love traditional Victorian architecture and panoramic Scottish scenery Carlton Seamill has much to offer. An impressive stone-built Scottish Victorian house dated 1883 Carlton occupies an ideal location at Seamill on the Ayrshire coast. It enjoys a commanding view over Seamill shore and beach to the world-famous Firth of Clyde and the beautiful mountainous Isle of Arran. The Rennie Family have cherished Carlton carefully for almost 70 years. With its original period features mostly still intact it is a fine example of a Scottish Victorian family home. Guests frequently remark on the houses relaxing get-away-from-it-all atmosphere and on the craftsmanship style and graciousness that are characteristic of the Victorian era. On the ground-floor the handsome historically-detailed reception rooms afford magnificent views over the Rose Garden and the Croquet Lawn towards the peaks of Arran. Throughout the house Carltons elegant Victorian staircase conveys a feeling of light and spaciousness leading to the comfortable first-floor guest-accommodation. DIRECT BEACH ACCESS Carltons west-facing garden-gate provides easy access to Seamills extensive sandy beach only a stones-throw away. Our guests typically enjoy walking along the beach on a lovely evening watching the wheeling flocks of seabirds and the gregarious colonies of seals. Fabulous red-and-gold sunsets are Seamill's special feature!
Our three guest bedrooms are spacious comfortable charming and well-furnished - as befits an elegant Victorian family house. The rooms contain many original architectural fittings such as fireplaces plasterwork and working window-shutters. The character of the house is intentionally "old-world" conveying a sense of history. Please note our three guest bedrooms share the adjacent guest bathroom. This includes a new Mira Sport 9.5 kw shower fitted above the bath.
We encourage guests to make the most of our fine Victorian garden in summer. Why not enjoy tea coffee or a pre-prandial glass of wine on the Rose Terrace? You'll love it!
