We are ideally situated to explore the stunning scenery in and around Northumberland and the border country which is steeped in a sometimes turbulent and violent history for example the Battle of Otterburn in 1388 where an English army under Sir Henry Percy fought an army of Scottish knights under the Earl of Douglas. Only a short drive away is the famous Hadrians Wall built by the Roman emperor Hadrian around 122 AD. Travelling in the other direction is the Heritage Coast with beautiful beaches.
