'Glen Avon' is a genuine country cottage overlooking one of the creeks of the Helford River between the villages of Mawnan Smith (2 miles) and Port Navas (1 mile) in South Cornwall. It nestles between farmland and the wooded creekside with its own private foot access to the water's edge. The well-known gardens of the Trebah Trust and Glendurgan (National Trust) are within a mile and a half with other similar gardens (Carwinion Trevarno) within visiting distance. It is also an excellent location for exploring the coastline sailing waters nearby towns of Falmouth and Helston with their numerous attractions or for simply enjoying the immediate surroundings with a host of wildlife to observe and enjoy. There are plenty of excellent eating establishments within a five-mile radius varying from the waterside restaurant at Helford Passage to the cosy informality of the Red Lion in Mawnan Smith or the Trengilly Wartha near Constantine. The accommodation at 'Glen Avon' is 3-star rated being cosy comfortable and attractive. It sleeps five people in a double bedded room twin bedded room and single room with a low beam most suitable for the smallest member of the family. The kitchen (with electric cooker and washing machine) dining room (pine furnishings and oil-fired stove) and lounge (colour TV DVD player) make up the downstairs the three bedrooms upstairs with a bathroom/wc (over bath shower) mid-way between the two floors. There are no extras at 'Glen Avon' - beds are made up for your arrival and all heating etc. is inclusive but we do ask you to provide your own bathroom towels. Your dog is welcome to join you on your holiday also at no extra charge. You are able to access the cottage by 2pm on the Saturday of your arrival and are asked to vacate it by 10am on the Saturday of your departure. For fortnightly bookings clean linen is brought to you at 10am on the middle Saturday.

Mobility Description:
'Glen Avon' lies on the single-track road (with passing places) between Trebah junction and Trenarth Bridge. The parking and garden is approached through a five-barred gate up a short steep incline to a gravelled yard adjacent to the property. This affords adequate parking and turning space for up to two small vehicles or one large one. The cottage itself is accessed by a short level paved path approx. a metre wide from the same gateway to the right of the driveway. Available turning space and access to the kitchen make it unsuitable for wheelchairs.

Directions:
From Treluswell roundabout follow signs for Falmouth then Mawnan Smith. Go through the village passing the Red Lion pub on your left. Continue for approximately 2 miles following the bend of the road (at Trebah junction*) in the direction of Budock Vean and Port Navas. Go down the steep winding hill past the creek and passing Lower Penpol on your right. Continue for approximately 1/4 mile and find Glen Avon on your right.;
