Greenwell Hill Cottages offer excellent Self Catering accommodation on a farm in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty overlooking the hills of the North Pennines. Situated in Weardale County Durham. The accommodation lies between the villages of Wolsingham and Tow Law. We have three cottages sleeping from 2 -13 guests. Large groups are welcome as we can accommodate up to 23 people. We are ideal for family holidays weekend and mid week breaks. Open All Year Greenwell offers children the chance to see a real farm; to follow our nature trail and feed the chickens. These traditional Weardale farm buildings have been sensitively converted to attractive sandstone cottages offering a high standard of self catering accommodation which includes gas and oil full central heating double glazing television freeview & DVD spring water supply and en-suite bathrooms. Modern kitchen facilities include fridge freezer microwave and an electric oven. Comfortable and prettily furnished this farmhouse style accommodation boasts honey pined furniture fitted carpets natural pine beams. Greenwell farm overlooks the valley of Weardale which is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of the North Pennines. Ideally situated for touring the Durham Dales of Weardale and Teesdale. Located 2 miles from the village of Wolsingham. All 3 cottages have been converted from traditional sandstone farm buildings retaining many original features. Water is from our own spring water supply. Greenwell has been a LEAF Farm (Linking Environment and Farming) which promotes environmentally responsible farming. We maintain a small nature reserve that has not been farmed for decades ponds hedgerows field margins and woodland areas to provide shelter and food for native wildlife. Nest boxes for owls and for smaller birds. A nature trail for use only by our guests around the farm.
