Hay Meadow Farm is a 12th century thatched manor house with origins dating even further back. Mentioned in the Doomsday Book the farm is steeped in history with its inglenook fireplaces and exposed wooden beams the cottage is brimming with character. We have 4 beautifully decorated rooms all en-suite and with organic mattresses (except clover room that is a luxury mattresses just not organic) hemp curtains wool carpets 100% natural towles sheets & duvets. The rooms are cosy and centraly heated with materials that are all natural clean and fresh. The cottage is surrounded by it's own land always peaceful the noisesd thing for miles arround are the owls. We hope that your dining experience at Hay Meadow Farm will be as enjoyable as your peaceful nights sleep. Our food is organic local and fair trade wherever it is possible. We aim for the majority of the food we serve to be produced within 20 miles and in the case of herbs fruit and vegetables on the farm itself. We are as passionate about the service as we are the food so enjoy a tasty home cooked meal in the comfort of the dining room with it's 800 year old fireplace exposed beams and even a creamery where they would have once made the traditional Devonshire clotted cream. From a single nights bed and breakfast to a wedding we assure you of the highest standards of service. As a 12th century cottage accessibility to people with special needs is unfortunately limited. We have 1 ground floor room that is accessible with a few low steps. The upstairs rooms are not suitable for people with movement restrictions.

- Set in the oldest part of the house our dining room has exposed beams and an inglenook fireplace and log burner. Tastefully decorated in natural materials and neutral colours it is always warm and inviting. Sit by the fire and soak up the atmosphere of this 800 year old property. Meals can also be served on the terrace at the front of the property a tranquil spot to enjoy any meal.

Directions:
From Holsworthy take the A388 to Launceston follow this road for 3 miles until arriving at the village of Clawton. In the centre of the village turn left at the crossroads signed to Ashwater and follow for 1.5 miles. At cross road turn right to Ashwater. 300m and you will come to another cross roads turn left signed to Halwill. Follow this road for 1 mile take second turning left. the farm is located a further 100m on the right.;
