Baia di Conte is tucked on Sardinia’s west coast, surrounded by countryside and backed by the protected natural park of Porto Conte. It’s got its own private beach and, despite its rural setting, the hotel is only a 20-minute drive from the restaurants and bars of Alghero town. It’s only a short transfer – around 15 minutes – from Alghero-Fertilia Airport – but its protected status means there’s been no compromise on its natural good looks. What first strikes you is the wide smile of the bay. It’s back dropped by sharp headlands and, beyond, softer hills cloaked in olive trees. Rooms are light and fresh and have efficient air-conditioning, satellite TV and a balcony or terrace, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, shower in bathtub.
The hotel grounds are covered in trees and shrubs. At the heart of the hotel, the greenery gives way to the pool and entertainment area, with a show stage, and three pools, two of which are especially for smaller guests.
There are a couple of restaurants to choose from. You’ve got a buffet eatery serving international dishes, plus two la carte restaurants, The Green&Grill and La Taverna.
You’ve got plenty of activities to choose from at this place. If you’re into your tennis, there are 11 courts here and you’ll also find 2 football pitches, a gym, a diving centre and a boule pitch.
