Located between the historic market towns of Huntingdon (5 miles) and St Ives (4 miles) just 14 miles west of Cambridge and one mile off the A14 Trunk Road we are peacefully but conveniently sited in the picturesque village of Hemingford Abbots with its lovely 11th century church and its thatched public house and cottages. Riverside House is a large property built in 1980 to a contemporary design and set in 2 acres of natural gardens with lots of parking space well away from the road. The rooms are ground floor light and airy but cosy if it gets cold with individually adjusted gas fired radiators. There is tea and coffee in your room and reliable free security protected Wifi and 32 flat screen TV. The spacious en suite rooms have Aqualiser showers with moveable heads toiletries bath and hand towels and hairdryer. Breakfast is included in your price and served in the dining room overlooking the garden at any time to suit you between 7.00am and 10.00am. There is tea coffee and fruit juice cereals porridge yogurt and fresh fruit as well as a choice of freshly cooked dishes. We are happy to meet dietary and other special requirements. You are very welcome to explore or sit in the gardens which extend down to the river. You will often see ducks swans and coots muntjak deer and pheasants sometimes a heron or kingfisher and very exceptionally an otter in the river. There is good coarse fishing available in season from the river bank. Besides the local pub/restaurant a short walk down the road there is a wide choice of places to eat in the locality. Outdoor pursuits and leisure facilities abound. If you are exploring the area there is everything from fascinating local gems like Houghton Mill or Hemingford Grey Manor House to sites of world class renown including the many treasures of the University of Cambridge the stunning cathedral at Ely and the American Hangar and thrilling aircraft displays at Duxford Imperial War Museum.

Directions:
By road: From the A14 turn off at the Hemingford Abbots sign (junction 25.) If travelling from Huntingdon towards Cambridge almost immediately turn left and follow the signposts into the village. If travelling from Cambridge towards Huntingdon go over the A14 and carry straight on. When you reach a T junction with a tree in the middle of it turn left. This is Common Lane. We are about 400 yards along there on the right hand side;
