Set in Ilfracombe's bustling harbour area The Capstone offers hearty breakfasts and rooms with free Wi-Fi in a quirky tall Victorian building. With the harbour quay close by and the lovely coastal footpath bike trails running behind the building the Capstone's prominent location has since 1880 made it a favourite place for walkers cyclists and nature lovers visiting stunning Lundy Island. The beautiful Exmoor National Park can be reached in a 15-minute drive. More recently art lovers business travellers and weekend wedding guests are among it's customers as Damien Hirst's Verity statue and Landmark Theatre are close by and its just a short walk to the Tunnels Beach and High Street. The restaurantbar is open to non residents and trades to the season offering locally caught fish specials on a menu inspired by Italy. In the mornings the restaurant serves a traditional full English breakfast featuring the best of fresh local produce alongside other lighter organic options. Each of the ten rooms are individually styled and all have en suite bathrooms with either a full-size bath with overhead shower or a monsoon shower. All rooms feature a flat-screen LCD HD TV teacoffee facilities and hair-dryer and in-room ironing. Most rooms have modern DVD players and the original Victorian sash windows.
